Field Record
PE Tee Weld Seam — Moulded Steel Tee Clamp Wrap

The tee on this PE line had been joined by fusion welding. Over time the weld at the run-to-branch transition began to seep — a joint geometry that a straight clamp cannot cover, because the leak sits on two planes at once.

A tee repair clamp is built around the branch: the body wraps the run, the outlet collar wraps the branch, and the two halves close on the fitting without dismantling the pipework. Sealing is by compressed rubber gasket across the whole weld, so the repair does not depend on the quality of the original weld.

After the bolts were torqued in sequence the joint held at full operating pressure. The tee itself stayed in the ground, so the repair took hours rather than the day-plus a cut-out and re-weld would have needed.
